‘Plastic Bottles’ is a project to compare the similarities between the materiality of clay and plastic. Made using the pottery wheel by hand, each bottle was fired, glazed and places in random places though out the area of exhibition; on the reception table, hallways window edge. They play a part and blended with their surroundings as leftover disposable objects. The materiality of clay, similar to plastic, is permanent, not easily degraded. The difference between the two material is that ceramic is seen as permanent and reusable but plastic as disposable. This work acts as a ubiquitous plastic bottle but may be seen as a sculpture or overlooked as another forgotten object.
